US: Coast Guard Interdicts Suspected Smuggling Vessel Off San Diego Coast
San Diego, United States - April 05, 2025 A Coast Guard Cutter Terrell Horne boarding crew stopped a suspected smuggling vessel on April 5, 2025. The vessel was carrying eight Mexican nationals. It was located about 27 miles west of San Diego. The operation involved teamwork between multiple groups. The Coast Guard Cutter Terrell Horne led the effort. The USS Spruance (DDG 111) also assisted. Department of Homeland Security partners supported the interdiction as well. This action highlights ongoing efforts to stop maritime smuggling. The Coast Guard and its partners worked together to intercept the vessel. All eight individuals on board were Mexican nationals.
