On April 9, according to the US media CNBC reported that the US White House press secretary Caroline Levitt revealed on April 8 that the US White House announced an additional 50% tariff on China, which will take effect in the early morning of April 9, Eastern time, in retaliation for China's 34% tariff on US exports. It also means that tariffs totaling up to 104% on China will take effect at 00:01 Eastern Time on April 9 (12:01 Beijing time on April 9).
