US YouTuber IShowSpeed has epic dance-off with humanoid robot in China
On April 5, American internet celebrity IShowSpeed drew global attention after dancing with a robot in Shenzhen, Guangdong.
That day, the influencer—who has over 37 million followers—went live from Shenzhen’s Happy Harbor, where he engaged in a dance-off with a humanoid robot developed by Shenzhen Zhongqing Robotics Technology Co., Ltd.
The robot performed synchronised moves to the iconic axe gang dance from the movie "Kung Fu Hustle", impressing with its precise timing and fluid, dynamic motions. IShowSpeed is seen copying the robot's impressive moves.
At one point, the robot hilariously “malfunctioned” and fell over, prompting an impromptu comedy moment as IShowSpeed playfully interacted with it—sending the crowd into a frenzy.
A spokesperson from Zhongqing Robotics said the collaboration was an exciting experiment blending technology and entertainment, and that they plan to explore more real-world applications for humanoid robots. During the stream, IShowSpeed marvelled, saying: “Shenzhen’s tech feels like the future—everything here is absolutely insane!”
