Nablus - April 09, 2025 In an operation by our forces yesterday evening, two soldiers were arrested, including a former senior member of the Lion's Den infrastructure, and additional weapons and ammunition were confiscated. Special forces from the Gideonim (33) Lahav 433 unit of the Israel Police, in cooperation with the Shin Bet and the IDF, yesterday arrested Mahmoud Banu, a former senior member of the Lion's Den infrastructure, in the Nablus area, who was armed with an M-16 rifle and a grenade launcher at the time of his arrest. The soldier had been involved in attempted shootouts and IED attacks against security forces in Judea and Samaria, and had previously planned additional attacks. During the arrest, the terrorist attempted to escape and was wounded in the leg. Yesterday, forces from the Duvdevan unit, on instructions from the Shin Bet, arrested soldier Khalil Hanbali, who was wanted by the security forces for involvement in anti-security activities. The soldier had been involved in skirmishes with IDF forces and was a major arms dealer in Judea and Samaria. At the time of his arrest, weapons were found on him. The arrested soldiers and the confiscated weapons were handed over to the security forces for further processing. The security forces will continue to act decisively, both defensively and offensively, to ensure the safety of the residents of the area.
