SJ Louw, a kayak guide in Namibia, has shared footage of him chasing after a seal pup before cutting a rope that was tightly tied around its neck.

He told Newsflare: "While kayaking at Pelican Point we spotted a seal entangled with what appeared to be some sort of yellow rope around its neck.

"I quickly sprang into action to remove it before it’ll become a threat. So many seals get entangled in trash floating in the ocean so we have to try and help them. I'm a guide for Pelican Point Kayaking and thanks to my boss and his OCN team we see a lot less entanglements compared to the past."
