An American bride-to-be was left in hysterics when her friends dressed up as Royal Guards for her bachelorette ahead of her wedding to her British fiancé.

Lily Quenneville, 30, was enjoying a catered dinner with friends when 10 of her pals marched in wearing the full iconic red and black guard uniforms to the sound of London Bridge by Fergie.

The hilarious surprise was the grand finale of a fun-filled three-day girls' trip in Barcelona, Spain.

Lily, a retail owner originally from Hinsdale, Illinois, said : "I had my back turned and was eating when London Bridge started playing. "

"I turned around and saw them coming down in costume. "

"I wish my reaction had been caught on video. "

"I was in hysterics. "

"I was dying laughing and almost teared up."

"It was the funniest thing I've ever seen."

Lily is set to marry her British fiancé Jamie Moore, 31, in June.

The pair met seven years ago while placing orders at a McDonald's in Australia.

After enduring nine months apart during the pandemic, the pair moved to London four years ago and will tie the knot in the Cotswolds on June 28.

Lily said: "We both just happened to be ordering at the tills."

"It was so random but perfect. "

"That's why McDonald's will be our late-night wedding food."

The couple is planning a mix of cultures for the wedding, including an English afternoon tea rehearsal dinner and a music mix of British and American hits.

Lily said: "Jamie is lobbying for a 30-minute Ibiza tunes set."

"I'm not sure we need that but we'll definitely meet somewhere in the middle."

The bachelorette party included wine tasting, tapas tours, and shopping but the guards moment stole the show.

The playful skit was a nod to Lily's new life in London and a cheeky alternative to the typical bachelorette stripper routine.

She said: "One of my friends came up with the idea. "

"They didn't want any kissing strippers or cheesy entertainment so they thought this would be a hilarious twist."

"My sister, who's my maid of honour, smuggled the costumes in her suitcase. "

"I'd been with her for days and had no idea."

"It was the perfect way to wrap up the weekend."
