The Red Arrows joined the Italian Air Force for a stunning flypast over Rome.

Footage shows the jets performing the colourful aerial display to mark the State Visit to Italy of Their Majesties King Charles and Queen Camilla on April 8.

Jets from the Royal Air Force (RAF) Aerobatic Team and Frecce Tricolori can be seen flying over the capital city, emitting white, blue, red, and green smoke.

The rare joint flypast celebrated the strong bilateral relationship between the UK and Italy.

As NATO allies, the countries share common defence interests, collaborating on initiatives such as the Global Combat Air Programme.

The Red Arrows are currently preparing for their new display season, which begins in May, with dozens of shows planned across the UK and mainland Europe.

The team consists of pilots and more than 100 highly trained support personnel.

Each pilot, with prior experience flying fast jets like the Tornado, Typhoon, or Harrier, enables the RAF to secure the skies and protect the nation and its interests year-round. They are based at RAF Waddington in Lincolnshire.
