Khartoum, Sudan - April 10, 2025 The Sudan National Museum, which houses artifacts from various historical periods that have passed through Sudan, has been subjected to looting, theft, and destruction by the Rapid Support Forces, in addition to the damage caused by clashes between the Rapid Support Forces and the Sudanese army. According to museum officials, many medium-sized artifacts have been destroyed, with limbs, arms, and heads broken off. Additionally, numerous smaller artifacts have been stolen and smuggled, and it is believed they have been taken to South Sudan. There is also widespread loss and destruction throughout the museum’s facilities, along with the disappearance of many important documentation records related to the artifacts in the Sudan National Museum.
