Aerial footage shows the widespread storm damage in Tate County, Mississippi.

Drone video reveals the aftermath of the freak weather that struck the region on April 2, with disaster debris and uprooted trees scattered across the affected area.

The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) reported that the storm impacted multiple counties between Wednesday and Sunday.

Officials reported that multiple tornadoes and severe thunderstorm warnings were issued on Wednesday across parts of Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, and Mississippi as storms affected these and other states throughout the evening.

Forecasters linked the intense weather to the combination of daytime heating, an unstable atmosphere, strong wind shear, and a surge of moisture flowing from the Gulf into the central part of the country.
