The Army Corps cleared hurricane debris from North Carolina.

Authorities began removing disaster waste in Bear Creek on April 8, targeting vegetative and manmade trash blocking local drainage systems.

Footage shows officials using heavy equipment to remove uprooted trees and storm remains across the affected area.

Hurricane Helene struck the U.S. in late September 2024 as a devastating Category 4 storm that made landfall in Florida's Big Bend area.

More than 230 fatalities were reported, and billions of dollars in damages occurred due to storm surges, extreme rainfall, and wind-related destruction as the storm moved rapidly inland.

On January 24, President Donald Trump made his first presidential trip of his second term to the hurricane-battered region to meet affected families.

He said: 'You are not forgotten any longer. You were treated very badly by the previous administration. And I'm here after a few days of the administration.'
