On April 9th in Wuhan, Hubei Province, a bizarre and slightly comical traffic scene unfolded: two white Volkswagen vehicles—one a sedan and the other an SUV—were spotted wedged side by side in a single lane, crawling along behind a bus, refusing to give way to one another.

According to witnesses, the two drivers had gotten into a spat on the road and were engaged in a passive-aggressive standoff, commonly known as “driving out of spite.” The sedan deliberately boxed the SUV in behind the bus, while the SUV showed no intention of slowing down or backing off.

One bystander commented, “It was honestly kind of funny—they kept driving that close for quite a while. Eventually, I lost patience watching their little performance and just drove past them.”
