The vibrant fields, particularly in the small towns of Lisse and Vijfhuizen, offer a stunning spectacle for visitors from all over the world, drawing tourists and photographers eager to capture the colorful landscape. On Thursday, April 10, tulips in full blossom formed a picturesque, colorful carpet in the Dutch countryside near Amsterdam Schiphol Airport. This seasonal event brings color and life to the region, heralding the arrival of spring as locals and tourists alike enjoy the sight of these iconic flowers. Tulips have a long and rich history, originating in the Pamir Mountains of Central Asia before being brought to Anatolia during the Turkic migrations. By the 12th century, the flowers were integrated into Turkish culture, appearing in art, poetry, and handicrafts. Their popularity grew, becoming a symbol of the Ottoman Empire and later, a prominent motif in various decorative items such as mosque decorations, carpets, and even war helmets. The tulip's journey to Europe began in the second half of the 15th century when Ogier Ghislain de Busbecq, the Austrian ambassador to the Ottoman Empire and a botanist, sent tulip bulbs to Vienna. From there, the flowers made their way to the Netherlands, where they became a symbol of national pride.
