Farmer uses canon-style fireworks to scare away eagles circling his chickens
This is the moment a farmer uses a cannon-style firework to scare away eagles circling his chickens.
Footage shows two eagles soaring above Mr Li's farm animals in Qinglong County, Guizhou, China, on April 8.
Mr Li then walks towards what appears to be a homemade mortar-style device and ignites a fuse.
The device blasts the fireworks into the air like a cannon. A second explosion follows, possibly the fireworks detonating.
Mr Li said he saw 18 eagles at one point attempting to catch his chickens. He added that he raises tens of thousands of chickens every year and risks losing many to the birds of prey.
Eagles are opportunistic predators and will attack vulnerable animals, including chickens, ducks, and other poultry.
