Palestine supporters rallied on Parliament Hill in Ontario against the conflict in the Middle East ahead of the Canadian election.

Footage shows activists waving flags in solidarity with the Palestinian cause on Saturday afternoon in Ottawa, April 12.

The protest began around 3 pm near O'Connor Street and proceeded towards the centre of Parliament Hill, with security forces monitoring the event.

Authorities said the gathering was part of the National March for Palestine, organised by several pro-Palestinian advocacy groups, including the Palestinian Youth Movement and the Palestine Solidarity Network.

Yves Engler, a Canadian journalist and vocal critic of Canadian foreign policy and issues related to Israel, said: 'We are going to make it stop, and the way we're going to make it stop is by confronting all these politicians, all these media figures that have justified that are enabling the indefensible, that are enabling the mass slaughter of Palestinians, the starvation, the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians, the Canadian support For Zionism.'

Israel has blitzed the Gaza Strip in retaliation for a terror attack by the governing party Hamas on a Jewish music festival on October 7, 2023.

However, the situation, which Israel claims is self-defence, has attracted criticism from around the world.
