From April 11 to 13, due to a cold vortex system originating from Mongolia, northern China is experiencing an exceptionally rare and widespread spell of extreme and destructive wind for this time of year, with wind speeds reaching up to 150 kilometers per hour (about 93 mph).

On April 13, in Baoding, Hebei Province, the metal sheet roof of a residential home was ripped off by the fierce winds, narrowly missing an elderly person who had been sitting outside in the sun.

According to meteorological data, from 4 p.m. on April 12 to 4 p.m. on April 13, 75 weather stations in Hebei broke their historical records for maximum wind speeds in April, and 15 of those stations set new all-time records.
