ANTALYA, TÜRKİYE - APRIL 12, 2025: At the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, a panel titled “Africa's Rising Role in World Politics” discussed on Saturday, Apr. 12, the barriers to Africa becoming an influential actor in the international system and explored opportunities for cooperation across the continent. Moderated by TRT World presenter Brenda Czeda, the panel featured Ivory Coast Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Integration and Ivoirians Abroad Leon Kacou Adom, Tanzania's Minister of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation Mahmoud Thabit Kombo, Mozambique's Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Maria Manuela Dos Santos Lucas, Ghana's Minister of Foreign Affairs Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Liberia's Minister of Foreign Affairs Sara Beysolow Nyanti, Rwanda's Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Olivier Jean Patrick Nduhungirehe, Benin's Minister of Foreign Affairs Olushegun Adjadi Bakari, and Professor Dr. Mehmet Ozkan from the National Defense University. The three-day forum, which kicked off on Friday in the southern Turkish city of Antalya, is centered on the theme "Reclaiming Diplomacy in a Fragmented World." The event brings together global leaders, policymakers, and experts to tackle critical global challenges, such as geopolitical tensions, inequality, violence, and climate change, while exploring ways diplomacy can restore stability and foster international cooperation.
