..ANTALYA, TÜRKİYE - APR. 11, 2025: Fadel Abdul Ghany, head of the Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR), on Friday, Apr. 11, emphasized the significance of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum for the newly formed Syrian government. Speaking at the forum, Abdul Ghany described it as one of the most important international platforms and highlighted the symbolic weight of a Syrian president attending for the first time since the fall of the Assad regime. He said that the forum offered the Syrian government a valuable opportunity to present itself on the global stage and shed light on the challenges it continues to face. Syrian President Ahmed Al-Sharaa took office following the fall of the Assad regime in December 2024, Israel has carried out multiple strikes inside Syria without any retaliatory threats from Damascus. Israel also seized the UN-monitored buffer zone in Syrian territory, citing the need to “secure” the occupied Golan Heights. The three-day Antalya Diplomacy Forum, which kicked off on Friday, is held under the theme Reclaiming Diplomacy in a Fragmented World, and it brings together leaders, diplomats, and policymakers from across the globe.
