The march, organized by the Senegalese Coalition for the Palestinian Cause, began at the prominent Ecole Normale junction in the city. Carrying Palestinian, Sudanese, Democratic Republic of Congo, and Lebanese flags, the crowd marched approximately 2.5 kilometers before reaching the Liberte 5 junction. Israel’s war on Gaza, which began in October 2023, has killed nearly 51,000 Palestinians, most of them women and children, according to Palestinian health officials. The International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants in November for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity. Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice over its military actions in Gaza.
