GAZA STRIP, PALESTINE - APRIL 12, 2025: In Deir al-Balah, central Gaza, four-month-old Savvar Ashour and four-year-old Razan Abu Zaher are being treated at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital for severe malnutrition and wasting. Palestinian children in the Gaza Strip are struggling to survive amid a deepening food crisis caused by ongoing Israeli restrictions and military operations. Since March 2, Israel has kept its border crossings fully closed to humanitarian aid, severely compounding shortages of food, medicine, and essential supplies. The Israeli army renewed its deadly assault on Gaza on March 18, shattering the ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement that had held since January. More than 50,900 Palestinians, most of them women and children, have been killed in Gaza in the ongoing Israeli genocide that began in October 2023. In November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant over war crimes and crimes against humanity committed in Gaza.
