This is the shocking moment a Chinese-built car crashed through a barrier and landed on a busy road.

Anar Shahmar oglu Najafov, 51, was driving a white BYD electric vehicle when he slammed through a concrete barricade in Baku, Azerbaijan.

CCTV footage shows the speeding motor flying through the air after the impact and landing on the road below amidst moving traffic on April 10.

The EV then hit another wall and collided with a Ford before coming to a stop in the middle of the road, with rubble and debris scattered everywhere.

Several passing vehicles swerved to avoid the wreck, while a van was damaged on its rear end after being hit during the crash.

A female passenger, 49, reportedly sustained a chest contusion. She was rushed to a nearby hospital for medical attention and was later discharged for outpatient care.

Najafov, who suffered a laceration to his left knee, was transported to Sabunchu Medical Centre. Doctors confirmed he is currently in stable condition.

The crash caused major traffic congestion in both directions. Police officers responded to the scene to manage the traffic flow.

An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the incident.
