This is the shocking moment a gas tank exploded twice, sending a family fleeing for their lives.

The residents were watching television inside their home when there was a blast from the kitchen in Rizal, the Philippines.

CCTV footage shows the impact shaking the property before a mother and her husband were seen rushing out of the front door.

A few moments only after that, there was a second, more powerful eruption that rocked the house, unleashing a fireball that engulfed the inside.

The relatives scrambled to escape while neighbours checked where the loud bang came from.

Neighbour Sherline Amalosa said: 'They recently bought a stove which exploded. It was the first time they used it.'

The grandfather was seen rushing back inside to save a baby sleeping in the bedroom when it happened on April 9.

He suffered burn injuries, while the youngster had wounds in her arms from the impact.

They were taken to a hospital for treatment. Their home was also damaged, but the family refused to file a complaint.

A gas stove explosion can happen when there is a leak, as flammable gas can accumulate in the air. Exposure to a spark or open flame can trigger a sudden explosion.
