VARIOUS OF BARRICADES MADE BY PROTESTORS INSIDE OF UNIVERSITYAMSTERDAM, NETHERLANDS - APR. 14, 2025): Dutch police disrupted a pro-Palestine protest held by student activists outside the University of Amsterdam’s Maagdenhuis building. The protest began after students occupied the building and renamed it “Dr. Shireen Al-Attar House” in memory of a Palestinian doctor killed in Gaza. Protesters demanded the university cut ties with Israeli academic institutions. Several students were detained as police dispersed the demonstration. Nearly 51,000 Palestinians, most of them women and children, have been killed in Gaza in a brutal Israeli onslaught since October 2023. The International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants last November for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
