A bride running late to her wedding was pulled over by police for speeding.

The wife-to-be, along with a guest, was stopped by officers from the Port St. Lucie Police Department in Florida after reportedly traveling at 105 mph.

The pair told the officer they were in a rush because the bride was late for her big day on Friday, April 11.

The ceremony was scheduled for 2:30 pm in Stuart, approximately 11 miles away. However, the timestamp on the officer's bodycam showed 2:42 pm when the stop happened at 649 SE Crosstown Parkway.

Footage shows the officer approaching the vehicle, where the bride, dressed in white, can be seen in the passenger's seat.

The official informed the driver that while they would be allowed to continue, a court date would be issued due to the excessive speed.

The authority later said: 'The old saying goes, rain on your wedding day is good luck! Well, on this sunny day, the bride's driver now has a mandatory court date in front of a judge.

'This stop gives a whole new meaning to racing to the altar. Not exactly the best way to start your wedding.'
