A skateboarder crashed on a sharp bend and hit his head on a concrete barrier.

Kim Balansag Canas, 27, was sliding down the curve when he slipped off the board in Negros Oriental, the Philippines.

Footage shows Kim picking up speed of up to 70kph as he rolled down the steep road.

The skater tumbled onto rocks and hurtled backwards before slamming head-first on the solid blockade.

His friend said: 'He was skating downhill during practice and hit his head. We were all so scared.'

Kim appeared dazed seconds after but dodged serious injuries as he was wearing a helmet on April 9.

Apart from bruises, Kim suffered headaches, which lasted for two days but eventually became better.
