An animal rescue team removed an 11ft king cobra that was found hiding in a ceiling.

Terrified homeowners heard the snake crawling on the roof in Prachinburi, Thailand, on April 7 prompting them to seek help from wildlife experts.

Footage shows one of the rescuers pulling the tail of the serpent, which was clinging to the wooden frame.

After a laborious effort, the worker yanked the animal and dragged it out of the room as it attempted to slither away.

No one was reportedly harmed during the encounter.

The animal will be transported back to the forest, away from residential areas, to prevent any future invasions.

A King Cobra's venom can kill 20 people or an elephant in a single bite. Its venom affects the respiratory centers in the brain, causing respiratory arrest and cardiac failure.
