This is the chaotic moment injured tourists fled from a bloody bar brawl in Thailand.

The French holidaymakers were drinking alcohol with Thai bargirls when a fight erupted among them in the shop on Koh Lanta island in Krabi on April 9.

They were said to have rampaged through the building, scaring customers as they hurled glasses and shattered windows.

Footage shows one of the tourists - a Frenchman bleeding heavily from wounds on his torso - bellowing outside the bar as he mounted a rented motorcycle.

His worried companions blocked his way and tried to convince him to see a doctor. However, he sped away on the two-wheeler amid heavy rain.

Police arrived at the bar after receiving a report at 10:30 pm.

A police spokesman said: 'The bar owner said the injured man was a French tourist who had been drinking with a group of five friends. It is not known what they argued about, but the man damaged things in the shop and shattered a window.

'We believe the bleeding was from being cut by the glass, and not from being assaulted. No police report has been filed for this incident. The injured tourist is speculated to have received treatment from a private clinic, because there were no hospital records indicating he was hospitalised.'

A local shop owner said he recorded the incident after hearing a loud row from the neighbouring bar.

He said: 'I went outside and was shocked to see the injured tourist walking toward his motorcycle. I wasn't sure where his wounds were from, but there was so much blood, it was shocking.

'I didn't know if it was from a knife attack, so I told the bar owner to file a police report because we had no idea where the man went.'

Thailand has been marred by over-tourism as the Thai government implements a visa-free scheme to boost revenue following the barren pandemic years.

However, angry locals claim the push for tourist dollars has attracted crowds of 'low-quality' visitors from Russia, India and Australia.
