Los Angeles, United States - April 15, 2025 04/15/2025 12:00 am (GMT-0700) TARZANA, LOS ANGELES, Calif. – A Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department vehicle was struck late Monday night following a high-risk traffic stop on the freeway. Deputies conducted a felony stop of a suspect wanted in connection with a commercial burglary in the 3100 block of Via Colinas in Westlake Village. The felony stop occurred on the southbound lanes of U.S. Highway 101 at Fallbrook just after 11 p.m. California Highway Patrol officers assisted in shutting down the freeway during the stop. Later, at approximately 11:45 p.m., while officers and deputies were still working on the freeway, an occupied sheriff’s vehicle was struck by a civilian sedan, resulting in significant damage to the front end of both vehicles. Deputies sustained minor injuries and could be seen with ice packs at the scene. The deputies transported themselves to the hospital as a precaution. The civilian driver was not reported to be injured, and no arrests were made related to the collision. The burglary suspect was taken into custody as deputies back in Westlake investigated the burglary.
