This is the dramatic moment a quick-thinking officer shunted a burning car away from petrol pumps.

Officer T. Hoffman responded to a vehicle fire at a Raceway station in Stockbridge, Georgia.

Dashcam footage released on April 11 shows the officer using his patrol car to push the flaming vehicle away from the fuel outlets.

Officials said the incident could have led to a much more serious situation and significant damage if not for the officer's quick response.

The department said: 'His swift, decisive action likely prevented a much more serious incident and protected everyone in the area from potential harm.'

Authorities have yet to disclose the cause of the fire or confirm if there were any injuries.
