US, Phoenix: Phoenix Dog Shot By Police Officer

Phoenix, United States - April 14, 2025 04/14/2025 09:30 pm (GMT-0700) PHOENIX, Ariz. – According to preliminary information, Phoenix Police Department officers responded to an unknown call to service near 10th Street and Townley Avenue Monday night. Officers arrived, entered a drainage ditch, and made contact with an individual. While making contact with the individual, for reasons that have yet to be confirmed, the officer discharged their firearm at a dog. The dog was struck and injured by the gunfire. Animal Control responded to the scene and took possession of the injured dog. The dog was transported to an emergency veterinary clinic, and its condition has yet to be confirmed. A person was seen in handcuffs being placed in the back of a patrol car; however, their involvement in the incident has not been confirmed. The Phoenix Police Department is investigating the incident.
