Khartoum, Sudan - April 16, 2025 The headquarters of Radio and Television in Omdurman, one of Sudan’s most iconic media institutions, was turned into a major detention center by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), where dozens of Sudanese civilians and army personnel were held. One of the detainees, who was released after the Sudanese army recaptured the building, shared harrowing details of his experience. He said he was arrested from his home after being accused of providing the Sudanese army with coordinates of RSF positions in Omdurman — an accusation he strongly denied. He added that he was held for several weeks under extremely poor humanitarian conditions. When asked about his opinion on the war and how it should end, he said that the war must end in favor of the Sudanese people and the Sudanese army. He emphasized that the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) must be completely eliminated and not allowed to reintegrate into Sudanese society due to the atrocities they have committed over the past two years and in the areas they have controlled.
