This is the amusing moment a playful elephant put a hat on a girl at a sanctuary in Thailand.

Kham Kaew, a three-year-old female elephant, delighted holidaymakers by using her trunk to carefully set the straw hat onto the youngster in Phu Tawan, Chiang Mai on March 28.

Footage captured by Mr Pa Kae shows the gentle giant picking up the hat from the ground before skillfully positioning it on the child's head.

The elephant then charmed the visitors further by giving the girl a playful nuzzle on the cheek with her trunk, mimicking a kiss.

Elephants are naturally social and playful creatures, especially in sanctuaries where they develop strong bonds with humans through positive interactions and care.
