Building weakened by Myanmar earthquake collapses in heavy rain
A building that was weakened by the recent earthquake in Myanmar finally collapsed when it was battered by heavy rain this week.
The family home in Mandaly was left tilted on its side following the devastating quake that ravaged the country, killing almost 4,000 people on March 28.
Footage shows the structure collapsing following an intense downpour on April 15. Nobody was inside at the time.
The 7.7 magnitude earthquake struck Myanmar on March 28, around 12:50 pm local time.
The ASEAN Coordinating Centre for Humanitarian Assistance on Disaster Management reported on April 14 that there had been 3,655 fatalities in Myanmar, with 129 people still missing and 4,824 injured.
Nearly 200,000 individuals are currently displaced, with 41,733 sheltering in 145 temporary facilities.
In neaighbouring Thailand, 94 workers are believed to have been killed when a tower block being built collapsed in the capital Bangkok.
Search-and-rescue operations remain ongoing in both countries, with numerous nations sending assistance and emergency responders to help with the disaster.
