Gaza - April 17, 2025 The IDF continues to operate in the Gaza Strip: The IDF and Shin Bet eliminated the head of the Hamas organization's weapons smuggling infrastructure; another key Gaza soldier who directed attacks in Israeli territory was eliminated. The IDF and Shin Bet attacked in the Khan Yunis area on Tuesday and killed soldier Yahya Fathi Abd al-Qadir Abu Shaar, head of the Hamas organisation's weapons smuggling infrastructure. In recent years, the soldier has worked to smuggle weapons and military equipment into the Gaza Strip that were used by Hamas, among other things, in the murderous massacre on October 7. Last week, the IDF and Shin Bet attacked in the Khan Yunis area, eliminating soldier Mazen Ibrahim Mahfouz Fara, a major GAP soldier who directed significant soldier attacks on Israeli territory over the past two years, and particularly in recent months. Prior to the attacks, many steps were taken to reduce harm to civilians, including the use of precision weapons, aerial surveillance, and additional intelligence information. In the past two days, the Air Force has attacked approximately 110 targets of organisations throughout the Gaza Strip, including soldier cells and infrastructures. Last night, an aircraft attacked the Nusirat area, a central military facility of Hamas' naval force. The facility was used to plan and promote plots through the sea against the citizens of the State of Israel. In the northern Gaza Strip, forces from Division 252 destroyed underground infrastructure and shafts. During their operation, an aircraft eliminated armed soldiers who were moving towards the forces. In the Rafah area, Gaza Division forces located and destroyed infrastructure, tunnel shafts, and mortar bombs. Also in the Rafah area and on the 'Morj' axis, Division 36 forces located and destroyed launchers and infrastructure above and below ground.
