The death toll of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip has climbed to 51,065 since the outbreak of the conflict on October 7, 2023, the Gaza-based health authorities said on Thursday. In a statement, the health authorities added that 116,505 others have been wounded in the ongoing Israeli assaults. In the past 24 hours, 40 Palestinians were killed and 73 others injured in Israel's military operations in the enclave, the health authorities said. Since Israel restarted the offensive on March 18 this year, 1,691 Palestinians have been killed and 4,464 others wounded, it added. On the same day, two Hamas officials said that the discussion on the ceasefire agreement in Gaza is nearly complete, with results expected to be announced soon. Noting that the negotiation is nearing the end and Hamas will submit its response to mediators after the talk, a Hamas official said results are expected to come out soon, even on the same day. Another Hamas official confirmed the statement. SHOTLIST: Gaza City, Gaza Strip - April 9, 2025 1. Residents standing on rubble; 2. Various of rescuers working to rescue man trapped under rubble; 3.
