In a solemn and powerful tradition, soldiers from the 3d U.S. Infantry Regiment, known as The Old Guard, placed over 260,000 American flags at gravesites and niche columns throughout Arlington National Cemetery on May 23, 2024. Marking the 76th anniversary of “Flags In,” more than 1,500 service members participated in this moving tribute, ensuring that every resting place of a fallen hero was honored ahead of Memorial Day.
