Castellammare di Stabia, Italy - April 17, 2025 On April 17, over 50 firefighters were deployed after a cabin fell from the Monte Faito cable car in Naples. Specialists from the SAF (Speleo Alpino Fluviale) team worked in complex conditions to secure the cabin. They aimed to prevent further movement and the risk of the cabin rolling. Four lifeless bodies were found at the scene. A fifth person was rescued and transported to the Ospedale del Mare for treatment. Other firefighting teams worked in the lower area to remove a section of cable that had fallen onto the Circumvesuviana railway line. Another section of cable landed on the roof of a house. During the early stages of the rescue, firefighters and company staff saved nine people who were trapped inside a second cabin.
