Sudan: Presidential Guard Cemetery inside the Ministry of Defense
Khartoum, Sudan - April 18, 2025 With the outbreak of clashes on April 15, 2023, in the capital, Khartoum, the primary target of the Rapid Support Forces was the General Command Headquarters. They attempted to arrest or assassinate the head of the Sovereignty Council, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, who was at his residence within the premises of the General Command of the Armed Forces, i.e., the Ministry of Defense. Thirty-five officers and soldiers from the Presidential Guard bravely defended Army Commander al-Burhan and fought fiercely. They were killed during these clashes and were buried inside the premises of the Sudanese Ministry of Defense in the capital, Khartoum.
