JERUSALEM, PALESTINE - APRIL 19, 2025: Palestinian Christians gathered in the Old City of occupied East Jerusalem on Saturday, Apr. 19, to observe Holy Saturday, also known as Easter Eve, with solemn processions and prayers. The faithful marked the day believed to fall between the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ, creating a spiritual and vibrant atmosphere in the ancient streets of the Old City. As part of the tradition, worshippers carried candles and icons while walking through the narrow alleyways leading to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre — a site revered as the place of Christ’s crucifixion and resurrection.
