KHAN YOUNIS, GAZA STRIP, PALESTINE - APRIL 19, 2025: An Israeli airstrike on the home of the Abu Shnaila family in Khan Younis has left two Palestinians dead and several others injured, mostly women and children, according to a civil defense statement. Footage from the scene shows search and rescue efforts, with first responders placing the lifeless body of a man into a body bag and carrying the body to an ambulance, while also assisting the injured. Hani Dabur, a civil defense worker on the ground, described the dire conditions: "We have struggled greatly in extracting the injured due to the scarcity of materials. We have no fuel, no gas, or gasoline to operate the generators and lights. Most of the injured are women, children, and the elderly." The Israeli airstrikes targeted homes, displacement tents, and groups of civilians in various parts of Gaza Strip, according to medical sources and eyewitness accounts. At least 92 more Palestinians were reported killed, bringing the death toll from Israel’s genocidal war since October 2023 to 51,157, the Health Ministry said on Saturday. A ministry statement said that 219 more injured people were transferred to hospitals over the last 48 hours, taking the number of injuries to 116,724 in the Israeli onslaught. “Many victims are still trapped under the rubble and on the roads as rescuers are unable to reach them,” it added. The Israeli army resumed its genocide on the Gaza Strip on March 18 and has since killed 1,783 people and injured 4,683 others despite a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement that took hold in January. Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
