This is the terrifying moment escaped bulls damaged stalls as they went on a rampage through a market in India.

Shocking CCTV footage shows the pair of bovines clashing with each other, destroying a vegetable stall and sending products flying into the air in Junagadh, Gujarat.

Three other beasts were seen roaming near the enraged animals on April 16.

Reports said the sudden brawl led to a stampede-like situation as people rushed to avoid being caught in the chaos. No one was injured in the incident.

In another incident, a pair of stray bulls were seen fighting outside a police station in Pilibhit, Uttar Pradesh, on February 10.

Policemen gathered inside the station gate, observing the two creatures before eventually driving them away by spraying water from a hose.

Authorities reported that the fight lasted for around 30 minutes, causing traffic disruptions and forcing motorists to park their vehicles farther away from the scene.

Research suggests that bulls fight to establish a social hierarchy within their herd, essentially determining who is the dominant male and has the right to breed with the cows. This behaviour is driven by their natural instinct to compete for mating opportunities.

In India, devout locals follow Hindu customs, with cows and bulls regarded as sacred animals that cannot be eaten or slaughtered once they have stopped producing milk. The majority of states ban the sale or slaughter of cows.

Instead of dealing with the economic burden of keeping their spent cattle, many farmers let the beasts roam the streets, leading to chaos when the animals become agitated and turn their fury on humans.
