VARIOUS OF ISRAELI HEAVY MACHINERY DEMOLISHING BUILDINGHEBRON, WEST BANK, PALESTINE - APR. 21, 2025: Israeli forces conducted a raid in Beit Emir town, Hebron, in the occupied West Bank, demolishing a Palestinian-owned building on Monday, Apr.21, which they claimed was “unauthorized.” The Israeli army rounded up at least 20 more Palestinians in overnight raids in the occupied West Bank, prisoners’ affairs groups said on Monday. A journalist, a woman, and minors were among the detainees in the raids that targeted several areas in the West Bank, the Commission of Detainees’ Affairs and the Palestinian Prisoner Society said in a joint statement. During the raids, Israeli forces stormed several homes, vandalized properties, and held dozens for field interrogations, the statement said. The raids came as the Israeli army continued a deadly military offensive in the northern West Bank since January, killing dozens of Palestinians, displacing thousands, and turning many homes into military outposts. Monday’s arrests brought the number of Palestinians detained by the Israeli army in the West Bank since October 2023 to over 16,400, including those who were released after being arrested, according to Palestinian figures. The figure does not include those arrested from the Gaza Strip, whose numbers are estimated to be in the thousands. At least 954 Palestinians have been killed and over 7,000 injured in attacks by the Israeli army and illegal settlers in the West Bank since the start of the Gaza war in October 2023, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry. In July, the International Court of Justice declared Israel’s longstanding occupation of Palestinian territories illegal, calling for the evacuation of all settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
