An injured kitten was rescued and adopted by a kind-hearted driver who took it home to nurse it back to health.

CCTV footage shows the tiny calico falling from under a passing black car in Pathum Thani province, Thailand.

Aoi Nongareerut, who owns a nearby restaurant, dashed to the roadside to pick up the hurt feline as it wriggled in pain on the concrete.

Areerut Promlap, who was driving a vehicle behind, saw what happened and asked if she could take the male moggy to the vet.

The Good Samaritan said: 'I volunteered to take him to the hospital. I saw everything happen from my car and I felt sorry for the cat.'

Areerut put the animal in a cage while its wounds had not yet healed and wrapped it in a diaper.

The rescued puss now lives with Areerut and an older ginger cat in her home.

Restaurant owner Aoi said: 'I quickly picked up the cat. He is safe now.'
