VARIOUS OF BURNED VEHICLE / LEBANESE SOLDIERS AROUNDMOUNT LEBANON, LEBANON - APR. 22, 2025): An Israeli drone targeted a moving vehicle in the Baawerta area of Mount Lebanon Governorate on Monday, Apr. 21, killing one person, according to initial reports. Following the strike, the Lebanese army cordoned off the area and launched an investigation into the incident. The identity of the victim has not yet been released, and authorities have not confirmed whether there were any additional casualties. A fragile ceasefire has been in place in Lebanon since November, which ended months of cross-border warfare between Israel and the Lebanese group Hezbollah, which escalated into a full-scale conflict in September. Lebanese authorities have reported more than 2,763 Israeli violations of the truce, including the deaths of at least 193 victims and injuries to 485 others. Under the ceasefire deal, Israel was supposed to fully withdraw from southern Lebanon by Jan. 26, but the deadline was extended to Feb. 18 after Israel refused to comply. It still maintains a military presence at five border outposts.
