Man leaps through hotel window during heated argument with girlfriend in China
At around 1 a.m. on April 16, in the Yuhua District of Changsha City, Hunan Province, a couple got into an argument on the first floor of a hotel.
Surveillance footage shows the two standing by a window talking when the man suddenly threw down his backpack and charged at the window. The woman tried to stop him but failed, and the man ultimately leapt and smashed through the glass, falling outside.
Another camera captured the man lying outside the first-floor window after the fall. He quickly got up and ran away, losing a shoe in the process.
On April 21, hotel staff confirmed the incident occurred on the first floor and that the window glass had indeed been shattered. They said the man had already paid for the damage, but the specific reason for the couple’s dispute was unknown.
The local police station responded that the two were a couple and not strangers. The incident was caused by a quarrel that led to the man losing control and smashing through the glass. Police did not intervene as neither the hotel nor the parties involved filed a report.
