A passenger caused chaos by spreading her legs to block a train door from closing.

The woman delayed the departure of train D2404 at Platform 3 in Shenzhen North Railway Station, Guangdong, as she waited for her family to arrive.

Footage shows the traveller extending her leg outside the doorway while on the phone with one of her relatives on April 18.

Two train staff members attempted to usher her inside, but she kept one foot on the platform, waiting for her companions to board the train.

Moments later, the officials exited the train as the woman waved at her relatives running toward the carriage with their luggage.

Once everyone was aboard, the train doors were promptly closed, and the train resumed its journey.

The train was reportedly not delayed on its route to the destination.

The Shenzhen Public Security Department of the Guangzhou Railway Public Security Bureau said in a statement that the woman had committed an illegal act by 'obstructing the normal operation of the train' and was subsequently placed under administrative detention by the police in Xiamen.
