A cat tangled in a football net was rescued in China.

Ai Ai, the hapless white feline, was discovered by two schoolteachers entangled in the rope mesh on a field at Shigong Central School in Anhui.

Footage shows the furry creature's paws stuck in the net on April 17.

This prompted the kindhearted coaches to carefully untangle the grey mesh while the cat lay calmly on the ground.

The animal reportedly did not sustain any serious injuries from the incident.

One of the rescuers said the cat had always been seen near the field watching matches, but its curiosity got the better of it this time when it decided to play on the nets.

The school reportedly awarded the teachers the title of 'Good People on Campus' and officially let Ai Ai join the 'Campus Cat Football Team.'
