VARIOUS OF PALESTINIAN RED CRESCENT PERSONNEL GATHERED FOR PROTEST, SOME HOLDING SIGNSKHAN YOUNIS, GAZA, PALESTINE - APR. 23, 2025: Red Crescent workers gathered outside their headquarters on Wednesday, Apr. 23, in Khan Younis, southern Gaza Strip, to protest the killing of their colleagues in Israeli army attacks. Demonstrators carried posters of the deceased and held banners declaring that targeting health workers equates to attacking humanity and emphasizing that they were killed while saving lives. Dr. Haider al-Qudra, Director of the Palestinian Red Crescent Society in Khan Younis, spoke to the crowd, demanding justice for the fallen colleagues and stressing that international law protects health workers. Israel resumed its deadly offensive on the Gaza Strip on March 18, abandoning a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement that took hold in January. It has killed nearly 51,300 Palestinians in the enclave since October 2023, most of them women and children. Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
