A deputy turned cowboy as he wrangled a herd of escaped goats.

Passing drivers reported a group of hoofed animals on the loose on Southton Road near IH 37 in Bexar County, Texas.

This prompted Deputy Adame to rush to the scene on his horse on April 21.

Footage shows the officer rounding up the seemingly confused animals off the highway.

The goats can be seen running toward the side of the road and into the grassland, where they eventually remain still.

After securing the goats, the officer located the owner and issued a warning following the encounter.

The police reminded the herder to check their gates and fences daily to prevent such incidents from occurring.
