A biker was amazed when he encountered a herd of cows all walking on the correct side of the road.

Jerome Montes was riding to a scenic spot in the mountains when he passed by dozens of bovines ambling in a single file in Nan, Thailand.

Footage shows the tourist cruising along in the left lane while the farm animals occupy the opposite side, seemingly unaware of traffic rules.

The visitor slowed down to have a better look at the cattle, but one of them charged at him, so he rode away on March 26.

Jerome said: 'I was travelling with my Yamaha 85YZ to Nan Noi river when I saw the animals.'

In rural Thailand, it is common to see cows roaming freely on roads as farmers often let them graze during the day.

Many areas lack fences, so animals can easily wander onto streets, especially in agricultural regions.

In the 19th century, Thailand, then Siam, had close ties with Britain, which controlled nearby colonies like Malaysia, Burma, and India - all of which drove on the left.

British advisors and engineers helped develop Thailand's railways and roads, leading the country to adopt the left-hand driving system for consistency and influence.
