Bakersfield, United States - April 22, 2025 04/22/2025 06:46 pm (GMT-0700) BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – Kern County Fire Department and Bakersfield Fire Department, along with the Bakersfield Police Department, responded to reports of a Kern High School bus that had rolled onto a male driver. The incident occurred in the area of Hosking Avenue and Monitor Street. The male driver, operating a tow truck for Golden Empire Tow, was attempting to hook the bus up to a trailer when the bus unexpectedly rolled over him. Despite the efforts of the fire department, which requested additional equipment to aid in the rescue, the man was pronounced deceased at the scene. The Bakersfield Police Department was on the scene for the investigation.
